Putting Peace Into Practice

A Spirit Lift for YOU as a gift from ME.

Putting Peace into Practice

When I interviewed the Great Rajmohan Gandhi as an undergraduate at Stony Brook University, I remember thinking: he is so great.  How am I going to ask him questions.  I'm just a girl nobody knows...

But what happened when I sat across from him I felt the Spirit of Peace in the atmosphere.  I felt so naturally myself and so completely at ease, because his very presence was pacifying.

I've studied pacifism--in particular the writing of The Mahatma.  I consider the pacifist lifestyle to be a high ideal--like the golden mark: one to keep striving for, but never entirely attain, because that would require perfection.

What I did learn from my experience, having the privelage to conduct an interview with The Mahatma's grandson: and also from reading the wisdom and philosophy of The Mahatma on my own time, was that PEACE IS A POWERFUL FORCE.

It doesn't seem like it should be: after all, according to plenty of people we live in a might makes right world and in some arenas [such as on the battlefield] that is just the case.  However, what I have gained from letting the seed of The Mahatma's words be planted in my heart is that sometimes it is the apparently weak...who are in fact strong.

I've read and gained a great respect for The Mahatma's laws--but I also no they are not realistic for me: I'm just not that angelic!  However, what I like to do (and I invite you to do the same) is see Peace and its sister-spirit Love in a High Light.

I'm not a big fan of toxic emotions: like Anger and Hatred.  They are usually just passing breezes in my life that don't actually touch me.  What I mean by that is there is a spiritual shield around me so that my character is not contaminated by emotional toxicity.

That does not mean you will never feel such negativity: but it does mean you don't have to own it as a part of your identity.  The Key is to build Tolerance--my favorite T-word.  Of course you should NEVER have to put up with people disrespecting you because you are a VESSEL OF DIVINITY.  But often times, I find that it is easy for some people to let impatience and restlessness rob them of their Peace.

I encourage you to treasure your Peace of Mind and value your Loving Spirit because they are the Essence of God.  People who are close to me know that it takes a whole lot to Truly upset me: I mean it would have to be something devastating.  My secret is I know how to let go and I know when to let go.  There are certain Healing Emotions that are beneficial to embrace and allow them to manifest within: then share them with world and bless others [as I am sharing this article with you].  The toxic emotions, however, will become weeds that choke the blessings in your life if you let them.  There is no such thing as toxic people, but there is a such thing as people who allow themselves to become vessels of toxicity: NEVER allow such individuals into your inner circle--if you value your spiritual identity.

Making My Mark As A Designer

Rare Jems + Hand Knits = Unique Designs

What is Rare and Exceptional about my designs is that I use Real Gemstones such as Raw Rubies and Emeralds.  This distinguishes me as a knitter and puts me in a class of my own.

It brings me pleasure to knit and since I'm in a jewelry business, I've decided to marry these two parts of my life.  That's how I came out with such singular creations.

I sell at fairs either in Manhattan or on the eastern end of Long Island: such as the Hamptons.  Mostly, I choose to go where there is a genuine appreciation for handmade crafts.

As a model, I take pleasure in modeling some of the jewelry and/or knit-designs that I sell.  Naturally, these three aspects of my life [sales/design/modeling] merged harmoniously.  And I suppose you could add writing as another aspect: also a complementary creative field.  You can view my designs on my site here:

Not So Foolish Fruit Flies

Research.Flies.Potential.Position.Opinion.Vibes.Virus.Submission

I'm not sure what Jacqueline Leo has against Josh Dubnau...

Maybe it's his age.  For a man with his measure of success he is quite young.  Or maybe she just has something against You Tube.  Or maybe it's not Josh and it's not You Tube--it could just be the fruit flies.

You can check out Jacqueline's opinions on Josh's research, here:

 www.huffingtonpost.com/jacqueline-leo/fruit-flies-gotta-love_b_94246.html

There is a wonderful spiritual saying that goes like this--

It takes the foolish things of the world to confound the wise.

I first heard that spoken by a Prophet: Kim Clement.

I'll break it down like this--

Fruit flies seem like such insignificant annoying little flying brats.  It almost seems like folly to take the mind of a fly and compare it to the mind of a human being.  This could be why Jacqueline seems to have her heyday mocking Josh's progress in research.  Of course it will be Josh that has his heyday when these foolish flies give him the answers he is looking for.

When I met Dr. Dubnau it was just a chance encounter or what I prefer to call serendipity.  We happened to be riding the same train westbound.  It was during the time their was a great MTA strike close to the holiday season: and that is what started our conversation.  The strike.  Then, since I was in the mood to chat and Dr. Dubnau was so amiable and pleasant to talk to, I went off on this tangent and that, and we shared our views.  Dr. Dubnau was on his way to his lab and I was on my way to Manhattan for a modeling job to meet with an artist who wanted my features for painting portraits.

Some psychic vibes I picked up about Dr. Dubnau...

*award-winning potential

*a rising up to an even higher position

*and...[keep in mind this is COMPLETELY THIRD-EYE VISION: based on nothing Dr. Dubnau told me]...I'm seeing a high demand for him at other labs: he will be faced with the temptation to leave CSHL.

*a huge halo of favor is with him...wherever he works, that place is blessed: in other words it's not about the location, it's about the Scientific Potential that Dr. Dubnau carries within--and it will be made manifest wherever he chooses to be.

**************additional scientific, prophetic info Not CSHL related***************

Tit-for-tat, Jen [who is a great medical researcher on the westcoast as well as a writer for Broowaha] and I just let out steam at the bottom of my Shake It Off recipe.  Well, we were both being completely babyish.

Anyhow, Jen told me to e-mail her, quite some months ago, and give her a prophecy on HIV.  Bad little prophetess that I am, I never did what she told me to do: and that ticked her off.  I guess I wasn't feeling chummy enough with her to give her a prediction.

However, I've had a recent conviction to give away just a tidbit--on this epidemic--so I'll do it publicly.

Prophecy on HIV:

What I'm sensing is the making of a SUCCESSFUL vaccination for the virus, even though there have been so many failed attempts, and some scientists may even want to quit looking for a cure at this point.  I'm seeing HIV disappear like Measles, Mumps, and Rubella--once the vaccine is thoroughly tested, well trusted, and made popular.

Sorry Jen--you might miss this one: since you declare that you've stopped reading me since I'm pro-submission.  What can I say for myself...except...a little feminine yielding has taken me far....

Jeremy Hoffeld @ Union Square: May 1st; 10:30a.m.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Please come and see the award-winning-artist: Jeremy Hoffeld.  This Thursday on May 1st in Union Square Park, Manhattan, Jeremy will be present.

I am honored to be working for Jeremy, and on May 1st I am privileged to be selected as his Muse.  He will be either drawing or painting an image of me LIVE in the park.  There is no fee to enjoy this artistic performance so come see Jeremy in action.  Come to the place where art is alive and all are welcome.  Be there @ the square.

When Jeremy hired me to pose for a drawing last week, I sat perfectly still, of course--as models must.  Three hours went by in a blink because I enjoyed his company and our conversation.  Jeremy asked me to make predictions, tell him my views on a number of hot topics, and even tell him bible stories.  We shared a special connection and the vibes are just right for a perfect artist-model relationship.

After the three hours were up and Jeremy was finished, he invited me to see his work: I was floored.  I still am in a state of shock-amazement at what Jeremy can do with just a pencil.  Images of me may not be available for you to see at this point-in-time, being that Jeremy and I have just begun working together.  However, you do have the special privilege of watching Jeremy from start-to-finish.  So don't be a square: be at the square: UNION SQUARE.

Eye Of A Photographer: Tom Shagass

How do you know when you see true beauty? How do you recognize it? Will it come in an obvious form? Or is there a hidden dimension of beauty that is not so easy to see?

Tom Shagass's work reveals ethnic diversity and age diversity. His images represent beauty--on a non-superficial level. The variety of faces--each distinctly beautiful in unique ways, is what makes Tom's work fully aesthetic: and in this sense his photographs are art.

Often in the industry, the models begin to look like clones of one another: at which point the element of beauty is lost. For beauty can only exist where there is diversity. Tom has a true eye for what is beautiful because he can appreciate the element of beauty in many singular forms.

One particular image of a beautiful woman against a graffiti splattered wall, is nothing less than striking. This is a portrayal of what I call rogue beauty. When a lovely model is placed in front of controversial art, the art becomes more aesthetically appealing. This is beauty by association. There is no separation between beauty and art. What is beautiful is art: and what is art is beautiful.

A gift that Tom undoubtedly possesses as a photographer is his ability to capture inner emotion. The beauty that begins within and flows out is truly inspiring. There is a certain raw element of beauty when it surges from an emotional level. Yet, at the same time, Tom's work is very refined: there is nothing excessive, gratuitous, or un-called for. Each image is a perfect representation of inner and outer beauty wrapped into one.

It was quite a pleasure, modeling for Tom Shagass. We did both outdoor and indoor shoots. Tom found a great spot in front of an apartment near Fort Greene Park. He liked the way the paint was peeling on certain parts of the wall. One thing about Tom--he has an eye for detail. What makes him such an expert at what he does is that he will see the little things that most of us overlook.

Do you need me to help carry anything? I asked Tom at our on-location shoot.

You just look beautiful, he said. That's why you're here.

A Talented Photographer: Saswat Pattanayak

It's all about Saswat.

Saswat Pattanayak is a talented New York photographer who is worthy of manifold recognition.  I've never worked with a photographer who does his job quite as naturally as Saswat does it.  My favorite object in his studio is what I think of as the magic red cloth.  I've seen him use it as a background piece: it adds quite a bit of passion to the images--as if I don't have enough already!  He has also used it as a lamp covering--for a dimming effect.  It could be used as a bed covering--to be placed beneath the model: it could be wrapped around the model like a shawl: it's just loaded with potential and possibility: so I call it magic.

Check out Saswat's work here:

www.saswat.net

I particularly like the way he captures the essence of snow, flowers, and waterfalls--since these are some of the most exquisite gifts of Mother Nature.  He is particularly fascinated by flowers, and spent part of our first shoot together, asking me about my e-book.  One thing I like about Saswat is his respect for Homeopathy: I appreciate this since I have homeopathic roots.

I also like his images of statues and boats.  Statues always get me--because one day I wish to be one.  And boats allure my romantic side that enjoys the illusion of travel.  And the way he can shed light on the nobility of architecture--that just overcomes me.

Saswat is not only known for his photography: he is also a writer.  You can read his blogs on line--you will appreciate them if you value a conscientious leftist perspective.  Get to know the mind behind the photo-artist: Saswat cares about photography...but he also cares about so much more...

Saswat happens to be doing an amazing job, bringing forth the website:

www.racheleaglereiter.com

It's in progress and with his special touch and designer's eye...it just keeps getting better.  Yes, he has more talent than I imagined: he is a web-designer also.  His intuitive, creative understanding guided him as he came out with just the right image for my new site.  It's as if he knew...without me having to say a word.  I never asked for it: it was a subconscious wish of mine--to have a site like this.  One day I walked into Saswat's studio for a shoot, but before we even got down to taking pictures--he was using his technical talents to let my image shine forth.

Saswat's photographs of me are available for your viewing pleasure on this site:

Making My Mark As A Model

So, here I am, launching as a model--ready to spread my eagle wings and see how high I get.  Here I am--a little bit waify and definitely not a tall tower.  Pretty well toned.  I keep my body tight.  Luckily I know just what to eat so I don't consume too many empty calories: I like my food vitamin packed.  And I'm replacing sweets with whole-grain pasta, veggies, and soy protein.  Hey, I have to keep my Audrey Hepburn waist-line: it could be worth a fortune some time.  Well, practically Audrey: a few more crunches are needed to attain that sort of perfection.

Yes it's possible to be twiggy and still be highly nourished: [it's also possible to be obese and be undernourished]--as ironic as that sounds: it's the quality of the calorie that counts.  My mother says to me, you have an advantage over the competition because you know so much about nutrition.  She also says, years to come you will be interviewed for breaking modeling molds.  Well, I sure hope she's right about that prophecy.  I don't think a female should have to have Man-Height to do runway!

I like to get encouragement from friends: it propels me forward.  I also checked in with some men that I dated: I sent them pix and here is what they said:

A [the corporate lawyer] says Wow!  You're looking more attractive every year!

R [the medical scientist] says Thanks for the pics.  You look good.  Sorry about your gifts.

(Anyway...what gifts is he talking about?  Hmmm...even a writer deserves just a little bit of privacy--don't you agree?  I don't tell the truly personal...I just let you wonder...mystery is an element of beauty.)

B [the real-estate developer] says Love that green blouse!!

(He was referring to this one):

www.seanfriedmanphotography.com/GlamourFashion.html

K [the criminal-defense attorney] says very hot, very sexy, very feminine, very smart!

YES, of course I care about the opinions of the men who have kissed me: I always will.

So...do you want to have a peak???

www.modelmayhem.com/rachelmodel

Some of you are stuck on the word "other": o.k. I'll explain--

My hair is the color of nutmeg; my eyes are the color of cloves.

Those simply were not options.

[*I'm in the process of getting pictures out for world-view: if for any reason you don't get images on these links, then check the web or another one of the sites that I write for.  So, my beautiful world...keep up with me if you can.  Who know where we'll land...]

My Trip To Party 105

As you know from my previous entry: I was a winner.  I had called in station Party 105 [and with a little help from the birds-ha ha] I chose the correct answer.

Well, now I have it: a $50 gift card to Borders and I will have no problem spending that.

I have an autographed ACE YOUNG c.d. called ADDICTED.  He wrote Rock On! in shimmery silvery thick ink--the kind an artist would use and signed his name: Ace.  I had no idea how handsome he is: really.  Check out the cover of his c.d. [ladies].  And I just love the way he layers his shirts.  What can I say...it's the little things...

I also have Chicken Soup for the American Idol Soul.

I may end up re-gifting either the book or the c.d. [or both]--because that's just the kind of person I am.  When I'm blessed I share.  Anyway, I have somebody in mind--but I won't say who.  It's top secret: otherwise it wouldn't be a surprise.  And surprises are so much fun.

What was bliss was that I had won on the actual morning of my 27th birthday: what serendipity.  I don't believe in fate as a controlling force.  And I don't believe in free-will as a determining factor.  Because there are always circumstance [both in and out of our control--that help shape our destinies]  What I do believe in is a synchronicity of Timing and Chance.

When you are at the right place, at the right time, and offer the right response--blessings happen.

Are you blessed as much as should be?

If not I want you to trust your Intuition: your own inner guiding force.  And get to the place where you belong for this season of your life.  Now make the most of your future...
